yesterday was six flags and we had a ball! me, becky, scott, nathan, and blake started our saturday veeeery early and ended it veeeery late. we picked the perfect day to go. it was overcast so sunscreen was not an essential and the light rain kept the heat away. it was a bit humid and we wreaked by the time we left. i hated acrophobia, also known as arachnophobia by some, and will never ride it again. itd be cool if it wasnt tilted out, but thats not the case so...forget it. rode the cyclone...i LOVE the cyclone. it must be my favorite ride. we all got to ride what we wanted so we all left happy. we stopped at IHOP on the way home. its only one exit west of six flags so we didnt have to wait long for food. we had an awesome waitress. the food was super good. i had eggs overeasy (not sunnyside up, which apparently means that the yolky sides arent cooked at all...not sure who invented that but-gross!) and bacon and hashbrowns and toast. we dozed off on the way home. i was pretty much awake by the time we were in birmingham. all the lights and such. not to mention blakes phone going off every other 5 minutes. the guys in the front decided to play freeze out. for some reason the air was a lot colder in the backseat. well,in conclusion, saturday was wonderful!
today i got up early for church. i worked in the nursery for the 8 and 9:30 services and went to church at 11. i sat with jessica. went to grandmas for lunch were i proceeded to eat entirely too much food. but it made for a wonderful 1 hour and 45 minute nap when i got home. bub woke me up at 4:30 and i was back at the church at 5. tonight was brother steve's last sunday, so it was a pretty big deal. we didnt have as many kids in the nursery as i was expecting.
tomorrow is my last day to work. its gonna be really sad. i see these kids all day every day and to have them taken out of my daily routine will be hard. theyre such awesome kids and they all have something special about them.
tomorrow lu is going down to auburn to look for a job. i hope she leaves with one. that would be awesome so she wouldnt have to worry about it when school starts. she'll have enough on her mind with classes and being in a new place.
i talked to holly on the phone today! it was wonderful. her outdoor class went amazingly well this summer! the UB kids told her that it was awesome and some of the kids who didnt take it this year said that they wanted to sign up for it for next year if she taught it again. thats wonderful! when we left for the summer she was looking for some ideas. she said that now she knows a lot of good camping/hiking spots around berea, so we'll be set for fun when we get back. sam's birthday was yesterday. happy birthday, sam!!!
all for now.
