hey, apologies if this is weird. i don't normally ask to be lj friends with total strangers.
but i saw that you commented in the chicagochat community, and recognized your username from the rva and vcu communities. and then i looked at your profile and saw that you're also friends with my friend dan (sushi_bard).
so, small world and all that. i'm a vcu alum and a former richmonder. i'm moving to chicago in about a month, and would love to hear your thoughts on chicago-vs-richmond. i've got a few friends in chicago already, but they're all guys, so mostly i just get to hear about which bars have the best cheap beer specials. which is golden information, don't get me wrong, but... you know.
i'm crossing my fingers that i'll be able to find suitable substitutes for yuengling, belle isle, the byrd, and bogart's. i've actually been in san francisco for a year, but didn't find quite what i was looking for, so... chicago.
so, if you're down with making a new friend/acquaintence (online or in real life, when i get there) and maybe letting me live vicariously through your old entries about moving out there, rock. if not, i totally understand. the internet is a freaky place. but for what it's worth, i swear i'm not an elderly dutch pedophile. :)
