Someone is actually freecycling a hot tub! I'm tempted, really, really tempted. But she doesn't know how old it is (it came with the house, so I'm betting on it being one of the 1970s-era tubs that were built along with houses around here), and she has an electrician's comment that it "should work". Which tells me she doesn't know *for certain* that it works. I'd love a hot tub, and my back would *really* love a hot tub, but we haven't got the money or time to rehab an iffy piece of equipment. A table? Sure. Something mechanical that would junk up my back yard even more than it already is if it doesn't work. Sadly, no.
Would really love one of these things someday, though.
BTW... off-topic... anyone watching Threshold? I'm halfway through last week's pilot, and it's actually pretty good. Some elements seem a bit horror-movie-ish and weak, but there's a nice mystery and some very interesting characters. Brent Spiner from Star Trek is on it, and his character is, while annoying, well-written and very promising. Since Stargate is on midseason hiatus, I think I'll stick with this for a while and see where it goes. Friday night is an awful slot for a network sci-fi show, though.
