wabbitseason couldn't make the Ren Faire last weekend, so we went out and got Reach instead. New canon, squee! Have done the first two campaign missions so far and a ton of solo and co-op Firefight. Dude, how much love do I have for Halsey? We knew she was a badass from the books, but, dude, Jen Taylor did a great job. She's hardcore, dude!
Mike has been playing the campaign slowly. (I've been doing the crafting thing watching him, like I normally do while watching the fun.)
I totally miss John and Cortana (and Johnson!snark and Sparky!snark and the lack of "Demon!"..er, ok, I'm rather nostalgic, aren't I?) which would explain the two days in a row of posting Halo icons, LOL...
I haven't been in love with any of the other Spartans. (Except for maybe Jorge...because how could you not love the fact he called Halsey "Mom"?)
As for the music...after about halfway through, you do start to hear hints of the original Halo soundtrack. It *is* different though, but I'm such a instrumental junkie, it's been happily playing on my Halo playlist for a week now. LOL
The other good side effect is that it's giving my Muse that push to keep going with the Halo Epic Fic that I swear I will finish one day. Really. But, after reading that one short story in Halo: Evolutions and knowing a little spoiler from Reach, I'm gonna wait to do major writing until after Mike beats the game.

You don't play the game yourself? That's really interesting! Gives me hope that others could get into this fandom, since a lot of women especially find FPS games kind of intimidating.
And oh yeah with the nostalgia. I'm saving my armor credits to get Cortana's voice. I'm about a quarter of the way there, I think? And John's "did ya miss me?" was just... d'aww, yes, I do!
I'm still on for doing beta on your fic! Even if it's during NaNovember. :)

Well, I have played a few levels, but, er, no, I'm usually too antsy to do one thing at a time. Sitting and playing a video game is rare (though I do have a soft spot for the Legend of Zelda games)...I'm one of those people who have fifteen things going on at the same time. (Which would explain why I hardly ever get anything done, LOL)
I love this fandom because they care about the universe they created and you can tell. No "let's pump something out to make some money" mentality--I mean, how much do I love the fact they pulled in Eric Nyland to help with the Halsey notes? And the fact that there are some totally badass chicks--Cortana, Halsey, Miranda (And Kelly if you go to the books)--makes it awesome too. :D
And dude! I felt the same way when I heard his voice! I was like "John!" :D :D
And thanks so much! I'm hoping I finish it you know, some time this century, LOL. It keeps growing...and growing. AHHH!! But when I do finish it...and I will...take your time. This story has been slowly evolving for next eighteen months now. :P :P
