so, I've done it

This isn't going to thrill some of you. I've decided to back Obama this year-- Palin is simply too big a threat for me to not vote for the person most able to counter that influence. I signed up on the website to volunteer and located my local office (which is in Falls Church, so it's nice and close). I also signed up w/the Gilmore people, because that's the one Republican I really feel the need to help.

I won't hide the fact that I still identify as Republican, albeit a very frustrated, at-wits-end one. Some will probably be pleased with that, some will think I'm a plant. At least, that's how it usually goes when dissidents from the other side wander over and volunteer for someone.

I went to a kinda sucky Mabon ritual last night (saw someone I really never wanted to see again, but that's another story) and spent a couple of hours afterward talking to a woman who hardcore backs Obama. Came away being a lot happier about the decision to help Obama than I was initially. It looks like he's learning from criticism and modifying his plans as he goes along, which is encouraging to me. So... I don't know, I'm a lot more happy and at peace with this whole thing than I expected to be. This is where I belong right now.

campaign 2008, obama
