[It's been a few days since Taiwan has seen May Lee around, so she decides to pay her a visit for a change. Maybe they could go shopping or jogging together, or hang out inside the lighthouse talking for a while. She's never actually been to her place, either, so this might be a good opportunity to see where and how her friend lives. But when she knocks on the door, she's greeted instead by a drone wearing her best friend's face. After some quick and polite excuses that would make Japan proud, Taiwan manages to extract herself from an awkward conversation and head back home. She's never seen May Lee droned before, so something inside her tells her that this might be a permanent situation for her friend. Heading inside, Taiwan retrieves her TKD uniform from upstairs and then just sits on the couch for a long time sort of staring at the wall and thinking, allowing herself to process all of this and what it means. Eventually, she heads to the phones to complete the time-honored ritual of informing the rest of the town that one of their own had been lost to droning. She isn't crying, but her voice does sound rather lifeless and numb.]
"May Lee is droned. I don't know if it's going to be permanent or not, but I have a bad feeling it might be. Call it intuition."
[There's a deep breath before she continues, as her hands tightly grip the fabric of her uniform.]
"If she does turn out to be gone for good, I would like to take on any students of hers who were learning taekwondo. I trained with her a lot before this, and while I can't necessarily claim to be better than she was, I did manage to improve quite a bit under her. I think she would be happy to know that her students didn't quit just because she was gone, so if any of you are interested, let me know. My name is Taiwan, and I live at 945 Beulah Street.
...Thank you."
[Click. Once the phone call ends and she's talked to whoever answers it, she heads upstairs to lock herself in the bedroom and quietly mourn the loss of her best friend.]
