[Action for 945 Beulah]

[For most of Saturday morning, the family at 945 Beulah can catch Taiwan busily moving about, collecting up all of the town's picture frames from everywhere in the house.  The same goes for the artificially constructed photo albums of memories of the family growing up together.  She takes care to remove the pictures, keeping ( Read more... )

If I could provide the camera as well, would you be interested?

Yes, of course. What kind of photos did you want me to take?

Family pictures. Real ones, not like the ones the town puts in the house. Even though my Mayfield family isn't my real one, we've gotten pretty close over the past few months, and I think we've come to love each other like an actual family does anyway. So I thought it'd be nice to have some actual pictures of us together with some more natural poses and smiles.

I've invited some of my actual family too - the ones that are still in town, anyway - along with my husband's sister and one of my daughter's friends. I figured if they're interested too, we could get some extras of the ones with them in them for their own houses.

That will be no trouble at all. My family and I were always taking photographs like that and I miss it a lot. It's too bad that I don't have any of my albums here in town or I'd show you some of them! But either way, I agree, the town's photography is so dull.

Sounds great! I should be able to have the camera for you later today - I just need to go out and buy a good one.

[There is a short pause as she processes that.]

"A-ah... nice to meet you, Anastasia. I'm Taiwan."

It's nice to meet you as well. It sounds like you've been in Mayfield for a while.

It's been a little over six months now, though I was droned for about two weeks in the middle of it while I was home.

Six months! But it must have been nice to go home again even for a little while.

Actually, I was home for 57 years even though I was only droned for a few weeks here.

So time passes differently here! But surely someone must have noticed that an entire nation went missing.

Actually, when I went back home, it was exactly the same point I came here from originally. December of 1941.
