Whilst in the shower just 10 minutes ago, I realized that I had one new and one not so new hero. My not so new hero would be John Lennon, and my new hero is George Carlin. I love love love love them both so much. I think that there presence in this world has affected many people. Maybe not in ways that they have liked, but at least to make the

You know that I respect the fact that you believe strongly in God and Jesus and your faith and all. And I would never think any less of you in any way because of it. But the things that I say in my journal are my beliefs, thoughts, and opinions. Although, since you have replied I feel that I can reply to you as well. And I'm not meaning to get you all riled up, it's just that i have a few things to say. It sounds to me that you think that I take other people's opinions and adopt them as my own. Which is not true. I just like his quotes because they are things that I agree with. As for seriously immersing myself in religion, I have. Although, I will say that ever since the day I was born I have questioned the hell out of everything. I'm not someone who can be easily swayed or told something is cool or good for me or peer pressured into anything. It's just not me. It has actually saved my ass quite a few times. So please believe that just because I admire people who are not religious does not mean that they have any effect on my thoughts. My beliefs are my own. No one else's. I do have to say that I agree with you on the fact that many people out there give their religion a bad name. There are people like that in every religion. I'm not sure if there ever was a time when Christianity was in it's true form. Because today, it sure as hell isn't. I think that if jesus came here on vacation, he would be appalled at the atrocities that are being done in his name. His time on earth was spent trying to teach people how to be decent human beings and look at what we have today, so-called Christians misquoting Him and stifling the true nature of humanity. They threaten that people won't get into heaven. And just while I'm on the subject, I have noticed that religious people seem to be THE MOST JUDGMENTAL PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. I think I remember some sort of rule in Christianity, ah yes. "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you (Matthew 7:12)." And for my last point, and I must say the one I was most eager to get to. You talk about the freedom of religion. I wish you had elaborated. As far as I can see religion is no such freedom that I want. Look at all the things you have to be, and all the things you can't be, and all the things you have to do, and all the things you must not do. If you stray from the straight and narrow path that you walk down you must REPENT!!! Turn around, face God, save yourself from the fiery pits of hell! Because I am not religious, I have found the freedom of life. I can fall asleep at night and not have any guilt about the day that has just passed. I can think for myself without having anyone or any text assist me. I have chosen to leave the path. It was then that I was able to see the truth of beauty and disgrace. And I have never been more alive.
Okay, I spilled it. I'm sure that I crossed the line a million miles back, but it is my journal. And this is truly how I feel. It is not my intention to hurt your or anyone else's feelings. I just felt that my true thoughts on god needed clarification.
