Okay I haven't done this in a long time, and I'm starting to wonder if I'm not just a little bit too uptight to spazz about fandom anymore. I'll give it a go, and we'll see how it is. Uhm. I'll put it under a cut, because there's going to be at least one video. ><

There's something about Miyavi starting a song with a series of English (?) words and then launching into that heady techno sound that really gets me going. It brings back flashes of dancing in my bedroom to 自分革命 (jibun kakumei), back before I understood anything he was saying, even the language I grew up speaking. Miyavi's music frequently transports me back almost a full decade now, to when I began this insanity laden trip into the cultures, music, and language of the Far East. I haven't followed his music as closely in the past couple of years as I may once have, but I never get tired of him. Last year I almost went to see him in concert (saw Dir en Grey instead), and I think this year will have to be for Miyavi (and Big Bang, of course).

Excuse me while I just keysmash for a moment: akjfskjfhsdfuefhwjefhkje. I've been excited about this for something like eight months now (or whenever it was first announced). This is based off the only manga series I've ever completely collected, one of the few 70+ episode shows I've ever sat through in its entirety, and it's starring one of my favorite actors. Sateru is going to do so well as Kenshin! The only thing I'm worried about is the arc they're trying to do... You can see Saito, as well as Takeda, and Jinei, which is okay, they can knock that out in a two hour film if they cut out some of the filler. But there's no sign of Aoishi and his Oniwabanshu. They play a pretty integral part in the story of the manga... But even still, if it's going to have Saito, it's going to be the Kyoto arc, which means Shishio, which means Juppongatana, and just lsdjfjskfsd. I don't think the movie is going to be long enough to handle all these things. Furthermore, who the hell is the blond Kenshin is fighting on those steps? Surely that's just a random man with blond hair, right? Because it's not weird enough to be any character except for maybe Enishi, but he's the final arc of the manga, so what the hell would he be doing there.
All in all, I'm excited, but the more footage I see from this, the more worried I am that they're going to find a way to muck it up. I mean, I'll watch it regardless, because it's Kenshin, but still. If they mess this up, a bunch of angry Watsuki fans (and maybe Watsuki himself?) are going to be storming WB. (That's how it plays out in my mind, anyway.)
Erm. Well, I was going to write more, but I have things to do, actually, so I should probably hop off Livejournal.... My attempt at spazzing kind of worked...
