Summary: Tammy babysits for a new boy, Danny. Little does she know that he would be her worst babysitting nightmare.
Tammy started to babysit when she was in her mid-teens. At first she looked after her little siblings after school while her mother was working. That worked out just fine and Tammy liked having a little money to herself. So she went and advertised her services around her neighborhood. Soon, she had a lot of babysitting jobs lined up and was earning a good amount of cash.
Then she took on babysitting for the little boy next door, Danny. He and his mother had only arrived to the neighborhood a couple of months earlier. Almost immediately, Danny's mother looked for a babysitter. Tammy became interested especially when his mother offered up twice the amount of money that the other parents did. The money would come in handy for the prom dress Tammy was planning on buying.
When Tammy arrived at the house, she was astonished at how quickly Danny's mother, Claire, had explained everything to her before leaving. There was no lingering for one last kiss or explaining about the phone numbers. Nothing. Tammy was taken back by this weird behavior since in her experience, parents didn't like to leave their children in the company of strangers and it took them a while to leave. That wasn't the case with Claire. She was out the door before Tammy had even asked her first question.
It was confusing, but she decided to take everything in her stride. It was possible that Claire was just really running late. So Tammy settled down for a long night of babysitting. For the first twenty minutes, it all run smoothly since she had the tv to herself as Danny preferred to play by himself in his bedroom.
In the middle of watching her favorite hot doctor make out with his mistress, Tammy smelled something burning. She immediately looked around and saw to her horror that smoke was slithering into the living room from the kitchen.
Immediately, she thought of Danny and rushed upstairs to his bedroom. He wasn't there so she run downstairs to call for help. As she entered the kitchen intending to use the phone, she stopped dead in her tracks with shock. There stood Danny with a few dozen lit candles all around him.
He grinned happily at her as he played with the single candle he held in his hand.
Tammy's heart jumped up into her throat as her eyes fearfully tracked the candle's movement in the little hands.
Right. Left.
Before she could utter a single word, Danny winked and threw the lit candle towards her.
