Prince Charming is a nonexistent character invented by
fanciful men of letters centuries ago in order that
gullible, innocent girls would grow up to believe that
peace and fulfillment would be their reward as they turned
over their doweries, their hearts, their hopes and their
hands in holy matrimony. Prince Charming is a mere pigeon
disguised in regal finery not unlike the male peacock and
his impressive tail plumage. Cinderella is a tragically
trusting child who wishes for nothing more than to live
happily ever after. Lotsa luck, Cindy.
Uh, I hasten to add that I know of only three irreproachable
exceptions to the Prince Charming conspiracy. They are as
follows:
