¡VAMOS!~ALA TOUR '12
THINGS THAT I DID TODAY
1. Ate some pineapple.
2. Went to work.
3. Met Tsubasa.
4. Annoyed an old man on the train by squealing at a friend over the phone about #3.
I was deeply lucky to see this show. *___________*
I met up with
curiosa_cabinet and her Japanese friend J in front of the tiny yellow theater.
curiosa_cabinet is a sweetheart and I loved spending tonight with her! She was so much fun to flail with!
We ended up sitting in different parts of the theater for the con itself, but both before and after we got to flail and scream and hug and so I feel like this friendship has gotten off to a very good start. XDDD
OKAY SO. The con!
Tsubasa didn't change costume very often, and he didn't leave the stage for very long, either. He's such an excellent performer, too. He has such charisma onstage, and especially in such a small venue you could tell how much fun he was having. ♥
In the opening MC:
•TSUBASA: It's T&T's tenth year anniversary this year.
FANS: *applaud*
TSUBASA: Right now he's doing a show and I'm doing a show. How many of you have seen his butai?
FANS: *raise hands*
TSUBASA: Oh, that many. The rest of you are Tsubasa!only fans, huh?
MAN: YES! :D
TSUBASA: Whoa, a dude! Thank you very much. That makes me happy. Is this your first time seeing one of my concerts?
MAN: NO!
TSUBASA: Really! How many have you seen?
MAN: FIVE!
TSUBASA: Five! Wow. Thank you very much. :D
• Tap-dancing messages
He did this at his D&R tour too, and it's totally adorable. He dances, the drummer follows the beat of his heels, and a message shows up on the screen. It's all instantaneous and really adorable. The kanji went by too fast for me to read it but the responses would show up in red and stay put, and so I saw that one of them was supposed to be in Osakaben. It said: "seyane?"
Behind me was an awesome Osaka woman who said loudly to her friend, "SEYA NA," and made me crack up. XD Tsubasa, be cuter with your adoration for Osaka.
• Imagine was incredible. He was wearing bright sparkly silver pants. Actually, there was a lot of glitz and rainbows compared to Tsubasa's previous solo cons that I've seen. XD TAKKI'S INFLUENCE.
• ASAP, BACKBORN, SAMURAI, Venus...all amazing. Heavy metal version of Yume Monogatari. During the chorus he walked over onto the side stage and I was like, "DON'T LOOK OVER HERE UNTIL I GET THE NUANCES THIS HAND DANCE RIGHT." XD
• "¡Vamos! Ala" was amazing live. I liked it when I heard it, but now I'm in love with it. THE MAGIC OF LIVES.
• VTR: Tsubako and Takki. It was Tsubasa in his Tsubako getup from the Our Future tour VTR, and Takki in normal clothes.
TSUBAKO: Ooh, a pretty man.
TAKKI: Shut up. XD
...
TAKKI: Tsubasa-san?
TSUBAKO: No, it's Tsubako. Tsubasa-san isn't here.
TAKKI: Ah, I see.
TSUBAKO: So right now you're doing a show. Somethingsomething-Kakumei.
TAKKI: Taki-
TSUBAKO: Whatever Kakumei.
TAKKI: Takizawa Kakumei. XD
TSUBAKO: Ahh, that. Right.
...
TSUBAKO: So what do you think of Tsubasa-san?
TAKKI: ...Eh?
TSUBAKO: What do you think of him?
TAKKI: ...XD
TSUBAKO: *leans forward, whispers*
TAKKI: XD
TSUBAKO: Say it!
TAKKI: He's like my lover. XD
TSUBAKO: Ahh, I see.
...
TSUBAKO: *leans forward*
TAKKI: *BLUSH* XD
TSUBAKO: *gestures at camera* C'mon, say it.
TAKKI: We're like a married couple. /o\ XD
AUDIENCE: WHOOOOOO!
TAKKI: BUT WE AREN'T.
TSUBAKO: Right, whatever, moving on.
• Stripping!
TSUBASA: It's hot up here!
SMART FAN: STRIP!
FANS: STRIP! STRIP! STRIP!
TSUBASA: ...Fine, fine. *takes off sparkly white army jacket* Okay, that's enough.
FANS: EEEH.
TSUBASA: Oh, my vest is still open. How embarrassing. *turns back on audience, buttons vest*
FANS: EEEEEHHHHH!
TSUBASA: *turns around* Oh, shush. XD
FANS: *laugh*
• The encores were amazing! It was so touching to be in a room filled with people only there to see him. No juniors, just Tsubasa and his female professional dancers, and a totally new band. Ah!
• TSUBASA: We have a brand new band here tonight!
FANS: *applaud*
TSUBASA: *introduces each member, mentions some have been with him since 2007* They're called "Tsubasa Band."
FANS: EEEH.
TSUBASA: ...*eyebrows* What's weird about that. Okay, fine, you come up with something.
FAN: IMAI BAND!
TSUBASA: Imai Band? Right, because it's "Takki & Imai."
• The girl in front of me was uber-enthusiastic. She was wearing his current con T-shirt and knew all the dances and really seemed to enjoy herself without shame. I wish I'd asked for her name. After the con she was really sweet, too - she handed out streamers to the fans around her from the fistful she'd caught.
Aaaand then I met Tsubasa. :)
I DON'T KNOW HOW I SURVIVED STANDING IN LINE TO MEET HIM.
I AM SO SO SO ETERNALLY GRATEFUL THAT CURIOSA WAS THERE OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE HAD NO ONE TO FREAK OUT WITH AND JUST.
At the end of the concert, Tsubasa said we'd be getting three special things with purchase of a DVD -- a poster, a wristband, and something else that made everyone around me shriek and grip hands with each other and I didn't absorb the word at the time because I was still in a TSUBASA IS AMAZING daze.
Fast forward a bit: I went out and met
curiosa_cabinet. We spazzed in the lobby for a while as people around us shuffled outside. I didn't want to leave the theater at all, but then
curiosa_cabinet suggested we go buy goods. I had thought they weren't selling anymore because the original stand was gone but sure enough it was outside the doors at the top of the stairs. I bought a T-shirt and then went to wait outside the queue for
curiosa_cabinet. Her friend J found us--she was at the start of this brand new queue leading into the theater itself and we thought, "Oh, maybe this is the thing he was talking about that made everyone lose their minds." So J told me I needed a slip of paper that you get when you buy the DVD so I ran down the stairs and around the massive line and to a separate spot to fill out an order form. I could barely manage the kanji I was so nervous. Finally I finished and handed it to the guy, who seemed deeply amused. I hadn't managed my city's kanji because that takes focus for me that I just didn't have at the moment. So I wrote it in hiragana instead. XD Anyway! He handed me a poster and a button and a special piece of paper and my receipt and I booked it back to
curiosa_cabinet and J.
The longer we waited the more we started to suspect we were on a line for premature fangirl death from exposure to sexalive. The staff were setting up temporary white partitions with the glass doors closed while we watched and freaked out. Then I remembered a verb he'd said: "chat," and my first thought was, "DON'T DO THAT TO YOURSELF WHAT IF YOU'RE WRONG." Even so, we tried to think of things to say to him but we forgot all of our Japanese and were stuck with, "ありがとう" and the like.
Then it got even scarier.
The doors opened and a girl our age walked out with her hands over her face. Next was a smiling girl in a wheelchair. After that, it was just one fangirl after another, holding white wristbands and looking awe-struck.
Then the rest of the doors opened and Curiosa and I freaked out even more. The staff led us down a corridor, around a staff guy acting as a placemarker, down the corridor back the way we came, and into the lobby where we'd been only fifteen minutes before, thinking the concert was going to be the thing we remembered forever. NOT SO, GUYS.
We continued spazzing about what to say, half of it in Japanese since J is Japanese and because we needed to practice the language enough beforehand that we didn't just. Totally forget everything. I thought of a lot of things to say--Please sing "Tada" again in the future, or te amo, or ANYTHING in Spanish. XD
Then the line moved again and we went down a new corridor. The line got a lot faster from there and we just couldn't cope with our excitement and anxiousness.
Finally we were at the partition and Curiosa said, "He's behind there. Right now he's behind there."
"No, he isn't."
"Yes, he is. He's behind there."
"HE IS NOT. IT IS SOMEONE ELSE."
Then we gave our slips of paper to a staff guy and I froze because he was there, handing a wristband to a teenaged fan, and he looked so gorgeous I suddenly saw like, images and concerts all superimposed over him. This was my idol, my role model, a REALLY HOT DUDE, and I forgot everything I wanted to tell him.
Ultimately, he smiled at me and handed me a white wristband with "ALA" on it in gold. I said, "ありがとうございました," and he said, "Thank you," in English back without skipping a beat. His pronunciation was flawless, and it took me half a second to realize he'd used English at me. *_______________* The staff ushered me by and Curiosa got through what she wanted to say, "Thank you for everything, please come to Europe," and we think he said, "Yes," in Japanese back. ♥!!!!
We went outside and promptly screamed, because we are models of fan decorum.
J said afterwards that his smile with us was totally different from before and after us. He must have been really happy to have foreign fans at his first show. ♥ Or any show. XD
I don't have words strong enough for tonight. He really is a wonderful person, and he's got such a sweet demeanor that totally comes through when you talk to him.
...I TALKED TO HIM. HOW AM I STILL ALIVE.
AND LIKE.
HE IS A GORGEOUS MAN, GUYS. Inside and out. ♥
*PASSES OUT*
THERE IS MORE I JUST CAN'T REMEMBER IT ALL RIGHT NOW.
I WILL ADD MORE WHEN I REMEMBER. :)
ETA: I was going to try and start the Ala chant but I got in at 6:59 and the call was already started. WILL TRY IN TOKYO. :D
