tearing down walls
this weekend was really cool. definitely what i needed. i went with michelle, jake, matt, ryan, phil and nick to La Villita (phil and nick's church. hispanic, in case you didn't guess). the building is super old and amazing--tons of random rooms, a false wall, a gorgeous view of the city from the roof, etc. so we just hung out friday night and toured the building, which was fun. then saturday we did work all day, drywalling ceilings and walls and whatnot. some of us had no drywalling experience at all, but we do now :) jake is the most experienced of all of us (besides phil, probably) and he's on crutches right now. but he's a trooper, he was still a major help.
basically, i really enjoyed the weekend because in getting to know my brothers and michelle better, i gained even more respect for them. the guys are just amazing--serving, encouraging, optimistic, humble... it's an awesome picture of the body of Christ--serving another church with my brothers and sister. the pastor and his family were grateful and hospitable and the pastor was putting drywall up with us part of the time. it was the way it should be...
so any of you ladies wondering where all the good men have gone... there's definitely some here at moody, haha :)
