MAC Attack

Lisa and I were excited to go to a special MAC cosmetics event last night. She set it all up, so I didn't know anything about it - I thought it was one of the classes they have where they show upcoming new items and let you buy them before they are released at the stores and counter - the classes are $50 but they take $50 off products you buy, so if you were planning to buy some stuff anyway, the class is basically free. (I wasn't sure if she'd prepaid for me or what...)But it turned out that it wasn't one of the classes - it was a special event at the Fillmore store. I wore my black jersey skirt and a black top with inside-out stitching with my Beloved black leather and wood Charles David platform shoes, and I wore Nars green eyeshadow and my Anna Sui lipgloss ring that Meagan gave me just to be not... All MAC. But it didn't even matter how cute my outfit was, because the store, which is long and narrow, was packed with women... it was too packed to even move, actually. It was like being at a house party where you're climbing over and squeezing by people and hoping they will not slosh drinks onto you. No one was moving, so it wasn't even like Lisa and I could patiently wait to get to the lipsticks, say, and eventually get there. Almost all the MAC people looked like the undead, which was kind of weird, because usually I really admire their makeup, at least at the other locations I've been to, except the MAC store in Berkeley, which is the worst. I was getting smashed; she is close to 6ft tall, so she towered over everyone, but she was still getting annoyed, so I just ended up getting two new brushes that I knew I wanted, since it was impossible to try and choose or play with any colors. So next time - one of the CLASSES, and definitely no more special events at the narrowest MAC cosmetics store on the West Coast!
