(no subject)
Here I sit in the good old US of A. LA is mad. We've been here 2 days and it already feels like a week.
We hung out with Alicia Warrington last night (Kelly Osbourne's drummer) and her friend Nicky (Nevlin). She picked us us from the hotel (driving thru the most unsavoury of areas where Alicia helpfully informed me we could pick up heroine and fake ID's hahahaha - good one Leesh!) and took us to a little Thai restaurant where we experienced our first Thai meal (not from the freezer, haha). It was boss. And although I had been really nervous about the evening (conversation and all that) we had a good laugh and conversation was easy and fun and didnt dry up, thank god.
Then off to Eagle Rock we went for an impromptu game of bowling. The name of the bowling alley was All Star Lanes but dont let that mislead you - there were noooo stars there at all. The place was an alley-cum-bar-cum-karaoke joint which have only juuuust had a score tallying system installed, hahaha!! Last time Alicia went it was paper and pens!! Alicia thrashed our asses, but I pulled in a low 2nd - Mike came 4th out of 4, but he says he has the excuse of being "tired". Pfft. Oh and he managed to injure himself on the lanes but tripping into the end of the gutter after throwing his ball towards the pins. Poor Mikey! I'm just glad we didnt have to go to A&E!!
Alicia was cool, very funny and really made us feel welcome. She's arranging bowling for ALL of us mid-week. After the bowling that night tho, her other friends had word of a party, so we grabbed some alcohol and headed over, calling Mat up on the way. I spoke to him but he made his excuses for the evening (drank a whole bottle of jack to himself, being one!) yet promised to make it out during the week, which is cool. The party wasnt what was expected so we headed over to a bar called 4100 and hung out for an hour or so until we all admitted defeat and Nevlin offered to drive us home. Mike was falling asleep in the club!! Maybe he WAS tired afterall...
It took about 45 mins to find Sepulveda with Pico where our hotel is, but on the way we saw a guy getting arrested and a major car accident (seperate incidents).
So all in all it was a boss little night. We crawled into bed at 4am and woke this morning with sore heads. And its all Warrington's fault, I tell you!!
