my third decade

well, i just typed a huge long entry and i then lost it.  super.

this has been the longest i've ever gone without updating.

there has been this sort of ongoing battle in my mind the past month, like "just do it and break the chain" vs "nooo, just wait a few more days, it'll be fine."  well, i figure that this, the second day of my third decade, is the perfect time to begin again.

to sum it up, the past month and a half or so has been school and work and movies and music and margot concerts and cookies and new damien rice cds and free coffee and singing and zoos and having an awesome house halloween costume and pranking the neighbor boys and secret santa and dancing and throwing dvd players off the roof and christmas light contests and cabins and plays and ridiculous rice krispie treats and us beating georgia in football and actually going to a real bowl game and joy and love and learning about God and all sorts of other craziness that, sadly, i do not recall.  basically the point is that i have the best house ever in the world and i am the most blessed person ever in the world.  the end.

also, yesterday was probably in my top 3 birthdays of all time.  seriously, it was so good.  at midnight i got "the birthday dance," and we spaghetti-ed the boys again, and smoked cigars on the roof.  then i went to work at freaking dawn (not so good), and when i got home we watched dogma, and cooked corn and green beans, and went to the csf christmas dinner.  it was fun, but then we went to see 'the holiday," which was even better.  it was so precious, and now i have a big fatty crush on jack black (it was an accident, i swear!).  i did miss about 5-10 minutes in the middle, because some girl came back from the bathroom and completely bit it, but it was still really good.  especially for a chick flick, which i normally don't like that much.

THEN we had our secret santa revealing, and it was so good.  there has never been a house more full of joy.  seriously.  hanna was mine and she got me amazing gifts from third street stuff, but the best was amy and melissa.  they had each other, and they got each other the same thing - a bradley hathaway book (whom we all love, but they love the most).  the best part was that they'd both already read it while they were waiting to give it to each other.  yeah.  and THEN we received three of the largest baskets of study snacks that ever were.  they were from megan and sus's moms, and there was so much food i couldn't even handle it.  it was great.

oh, and recently i have become obsessed with flight of the conchords.  they are a comedy duo from new zealand and they rock my socks.  amy and i have already started stalking them, because band-stalking is what we do, and they are sort of a band.  they play guitar, anyway.  the point is, check them out:

business time

well, our "study for 45 minutes, socialize for 15, eat dinner at cici's" party has begun, so i guess it's time to go type some philosophy essays for my final tomorrow.  but first:

i'm 20, suckas!  only one more year before i can finally go see good music at the dame, and a good drag show at the bar.  woot.

ps - everyone should read "velvet elvis" by rob bell.  seriously.  just do it.
