alright i'll try this...

so i haven't posted in a million years, but i'll try to do this a bit more regularly.
first off, my memory is sooo bad i completely forgot how to change lj appearance you might call it. so i'm stuck with the umbrellas until i figure this out. hey, it's like riding a bike, right?

i think i'm going to do sort of a movie/tv show review on this because i have been watching a lot of movies and want to blab about them a bit.
so i saw Charlie Wilson's War today and i think it was pretty good.

It wasn't amazing or anything, but good. I was kind of confused with the kind of power and influence that a Congressman can exert. Yes, Russia was the bad guy. But seriously, they are ALWAYS the bad guy both in movies and in real life. Apparently, it got so bad there right now, people can be arrested for communicating with foreigners. Yep. Totalitarianism here we come.
But back to the movie. I really liked the guy Gust, especially his final comment about the Zen master:

Gust Avrakotos: There's a little boy and on his 14th birthday he gets a horse... and everybody in the village says, "how wonderful. the boy got a horse" And the Zen master says, "we'll see." Two years later The boy falls off the horse, breaks his leg, and everyone in the village says, "how terrible." And the Zen master says, "We'll see." Then, a war breaks out and all the young men have to go off and fight... except the boy can't cause his legs all messed up. and everybody in the village says, "How wonderful."
Charlie Wilson: Now the Zen master says, "We'll see."

Oh, also, the 30 year old CIA weapons expert and chess prodigy was really cool.

Final grade: I would give it a B+.
