Today was a wierd day.
On the drive home it was snowing & it felt really surreal.
Things are funny that way I guess.
I was thinking about how I used to get so excited about Valentine's day in high school.
Even if I didn't have a boyfriend, I would make it about who was important to me at the time,
who were my best friends that year.
I remember one year, I didn't have a boyfriend but Nate brought me a rose.
It was orange and white I think. Really pretty. My favorite flower.
Another year I got 13 carnations during 2nd bell Latin class! I felt really special.
My first year at Walnut, Josh brought me a card, a carnation, candy.
That was a big deal in the 7th grade.
This year, I'm letting people that I care about know in my own way.
Valentine's Day isn't just commercial for me, it's always been just one more excuse to show someone I care.
I guess, it's more like a holiday to say "I love you".
Although I certainly don't need one to say it, it's nice to have the extra affection, the extra effort or attempt.
Even though I didn't think so, I guess Valentine's Day is still one of my favorite holidays.
I'm such a sap.
