lets just say dunkin donuts will never be the same....
are there words to describe this weekend?
my god CRAZY time! soooo awesome though....
so after a 3 hour ride all of us- eng, annie, katie, erin, jess, matty, dan, derek, sam, alex and greg- thought we were just going to sleep or whatever, but no, we had one hour to pack our packs to get ready to sleep outside. so we did and after a 20 minute drive we got to the drop off point and put on snowshoes (in the dark) and hike for 45 minutes through trails and across a frozen lake.
when we got to our site, annie, eng and i had to put up our tent and everything while it was -5 degrees. NOT cold or anything! but i was thinking in my head, oh it wont be soo bad when we get in our -20 degree sleeping bags. WHOA was i wrong. i really think that i've never been that miserable in my entire life. we didnt sleep at all we were soo cold. i would just lie there not knowing what to do lol and at random times we'd hear random people shouting "kevinn!!! what time is it?" and it was like only 3am and we were pissed cuz we just wanted to leave and move. so then steve got up and would take ppl for walks and stuff. not to mention taking a piss in the woods is NOT my kind of thing. WITHOUT toilet paper. all the girls went together and after we were just squating there like ummm what do we do?! lol. annie "umm just like try shaking...it will drip out"
so when it was finally 6, we got to get up and pack up camp to split into 2 teams and race pulling a canoe with all our packs in it plus 2 people across the lake and up a mountain. my team didnt win the canoe part because we just kept yelling at each other. we got wicked hot and it was sooo hard on our bodies with no sleep or anything. but i guess thats the point of the weekend to challenge ourselves both physically and mentally. but when we got to the top we had to build a fire and the only supplies given were 3 single matches. it took both teams an hour and a half. that part was also miserable. lol.
soo after we ate lunch and hiked down to wear we were to repel off the mountain. it was like 150 foot cliff. we did that last year too, so i wasnt scared it was just sooo awesome. just looking out and seeing the veiw and thinking omg look what i'm doing right now. not many people have that opportunity and i'm soo glad i did. it was such a random group of people. like they are on FINS and everything, but the only 2 ppl from north were me and eng so i got to know all the south kids soo much better. when i wasn't thinking about how cold i was, i was hysterically laughing. i love you guys soo much! and obv specail shout out to the fab 4. :)
