So in early May I said that I was officially turning into That Girl. Well, it's happened...I am That Girl. Carl is amazing. We went out for wine last night, and it was by far the best date I've ever been on. I think about him non-stop, and I'm more than "in like" with him. Just thinking about him makes me smile. He's unlike anyone I've ever met. And, I know he likes me just as much as I like him. He always tell me how "captivating," "intriguing," and "inspiring" I am. Seriously, how many guys would say that? And the best part about it is that I know he's being genuine and true. I had told him how it took me a while to be sure that he was "real," and he was so sweet and totally understood. I told him a little bit about the past year and how I've been hurt a lot and that's why it's taken me a while. I mean, I knew I liked him, but I hadn't been that open about it with him. My analogy was that I was like a little kid on a diving board who runs out to the end, stops, wants to jump, but is too scared. So he said, "Well, I'm so glad you finally jumped." How sweet is that! Tomorrow we are meeting up for coffee and Thursday night we are going to a concert and then out for drinks. Friday he leaves to go on vacation for 10 days. That's such a long time! He comes home and like three days later I leave for Philadelphia. I'll be gone for a week and then the day after I come home, Carl and I leave for our Orlando trip. He and the band are going back to England to tour in September. He wants me to go, and of course I would love to go, but I just can't afford that. Plus, I can't take the time off of work. I love dating him and spending time with him, but I really don't like the whole touring thing. But, I understand that he's in a band so that's part of it. Ok well enough about him. I don't want to bore you too much!

In other news...the last day of school is tomorrow. I am really going to miss my students. Of course I'm looking forward to my two months off of work, but I've really grown to love teaching. My students are amazing. Maybe I'm just attached to them, but none of the other teachers are talking about how they will miss their students. Maybe it's because I'm a new teacher and am not used to having them for 10 months and then letting go. Maybe it's just my personality. Or maybe I just lucked out with a great group of kids. Whatever it is, it's bittersweet. I will miss them and their hilarity. I'll miss their smart comments. I'll miss saying "(Insert name here) please be quiet." I'll miss their heckling about me and "Mr. Carl."

On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to next year. I get to have the same students from start to finish. I love building that relationship with them. I also can't wait to have my own classroom. I obviously had one this year but I didn't feel like it was "mine." I really want to go out and buy posters and decorate it. I want a poster of the classroom rules. I want movie posters for movies based on literature. I want posters that list common grammar errors and ways to fix them. I want Christmas lights. I want a classroom where my students can feel safe and somewhere that's a great learning environment. There's so much to look forward to!

Life is really good right now. I have a wonderful job with fabulous co-workers. I've turned down other offers to teach at various schools in Palm Beach County. I have the best friends I could ask for (Brittany will be teaching with me next year!). And, I'm dating one of the most interesting, amazing guys I have ever met. I was happy before, but I'm a different happy now. I'm more content. I realized that before I was happy, but it was more of a superficial happiness. I was always putting on a show and now I feel a "true happiness." I can't really explain it. I love that I can't stop smiling. I truly and honestly believe that everyone is the world should at one time be as happy as I am. I hope that everyone gets to experience something in their life that makes them feel like this.
