okay, first: i know i suck for not updating since forever ago. but actually no, cuz salamanca is awesome and i´m having an AMAZING time. if you miss me that much, send some e-mails my way...i´m way better at responding to those and definitely in a more timely fashion.
so, MADRID:
on the way we stopped at el valle de los caídos and el escorial. cool, historical stuff. and we saw a really awesome basilica. i dunno though, i´m already starting to get burnt out on cathedrals. at el escorial we all got those little audio guide things which we´re completely nerdy but really helpful. and we got to see the beginning of a wedding that was being held in the basicilica there. SO pretty.
that night we got acquainted with the city. found the plaza mayor (actually quite colonial) and el puerto del sol (center of the city where all these streets meet). by this point everyone else was tired, so me and holly went out. what a good time. we didn´t pay cover anywhere, and definitely scored some free shots. we found la comedia which had good american music and everyone was so jealous cuz we could sing along and they couldn´t. (ya know, the whole language barrier thing). we met lots of guys including 2 that invited us to stay with them on tenerife island. hahaha. we got offered cocaine, too.
the next day was a bus tour...we drove around for a few hours, and occasionally got out at some places. (a palace, some statue, the train station w/ an awesome garden, the real madrid stadium, and more shit i can´t remember). at some point pretty much everyone was passed out and i felt bad...but the tour guide was annoying, so whatever.
next was lunch and we skipped out on the museums to go shopping. muahahhaha. that night we went to a flamenco show which was INCREDIBLE! the place was pretty small, so we were like practically on stage. i thought i´d get bored of it really quick, but it actually was completely intriguing. and there was a celebrity spotting. POSH SPICE and some other chick and the BBC station. w00t!
for the nightime...more bars and discotecas. we went to the famous KAPITAL (7 floor dance club.) this place was awesome, it freaking had a directory for what kind of music was at each floor. we met some cool people and stuff, including a london boy who lived right near our hotel. long story short, i called it a night around 8 am. heh.
the next day: SEGOVIA
we stopped for more touristy stuff....another cathedral, el aguaducto (sp?), and finally a castilla!!! it was awesome, so story bookish. it definitely kicks the ass of the walt disney castle. we climbed the 140 steep/windy steps to the top for a really pretty view of the surrounding part of the city.
that´s all i feel like writing now...heh. i need to e-mail. but there´s more to come...portugal trip and just the daily happenings here in salamanca.
bye y´all. be good, have fun, stay safe!
