academics, or how do i manage to get by?
i was reminded of my high school days in mr. coutu's class when my answers to essay questions saved a collection of my peers from bad or failing grades and, when read aloud, caused the most riotous laughter. jennifer, the quiet girl, but the best. yesterday i made a presentation on the etymology and uses of the word EAST; how utterly dull. first, i commend myself on my powerpoint skills; i don't think i've touched the program since middle school. anyhoo, that's rather besides the point. SO. rather than focusing strictly on the indo-european roots and whatnot of the word, i brought in a lot of information about EAST COAT HIP HOP (vs. west coast) and included pictures of ja rule and fifty cent. and guns. people laughed.
i'm sure you don't care much about my little successes in english classes. i guess the main point here is that i wrote the accompanying paper the night before it was due. i've been majorly slacking of late which is, i believe, customary, at least with myself- i always tell myself in the beginning of the semester to do well. i even read the text books. not any more. i'm a golden example of an all-star slacker. but i still come out on top.
so the battles for the upcoming week:
1. finals
2. shopping malls
& hopefully my beautiful friends.
