We moved into the house yesterday! It's seriously amazing. I love it. LOVE. And I'm going to love it even more once we paint, organize, & decorate. I can't wait till everything is in its place. I was feeling super stressed & overwhelmed yesterday afternoon, because it took 2 trips with the UHaul and there's STILL stuff in the apartment (not a lot but still)...not to mention some of the furniture I still have at Kari's, Danielle's, and my dad's. And seeing all the stuff coming into the house, I was thinking, "How are we ever going to get all this put away? And paint?!" BUT, I decided to start with 1 room and focus on just getting that done by the end of the day...because sometimes I get scatterbrained & try to do a little here & a little there, then nothing looks done or feels accomplished. So I started with the kitchen, which may have been the hardest room. I spent probably 5+ hours in there, and every time I thought I was almost done, I found 3 more boxes labeled Kitchen. But I finally got it all done, and it felt so good. I love my new kitchen. It's not huge, but it's great. All the appliances (incidentally even the ones that we brought with us) are matching silver & black, looks so nice. And there are stools for the girls to eat breakfast or snacks at the counter. And I don't have to waste any of my counter space on my wax pots or a dish drying rack (because oh yeah, I have a DISHWASHER!). This is also the only room we don't even want to paint because I already love the shade of green it is. Did I mention that the sellers (or more likely the renters since it was a rental property before) left a sweet Kitchenaid stand mixer? Talk about an awesome score. It's funny because they were supposed to leave the microwave since it was in the disclosures, but they wound up taking it. Didn't really matter to us anyway since we already had a microwave, but yeah I'll take the mixer instead of a microwave, no problem :) The floor and the counters are awesome, and yeah, I just love my kitchen :) I am at the farmers market till 1, but as soon as I get home, my goals are to get the bathrooms unpacked, to paint the living room since the couch & loveseat are being delivered tomorrow, and to organize the playroom.
