I was just telling Melvyn this morning how much I love theme parks.
They're so beautiful, and they bring me so much joy.
I was at Universal Studios Hollywood! (:
We took the hostel's shuttle bus to Universals. The streets were just so beautiful.
We ventured out as a group of 5, Peipei, Jenn, Cleo, Sharon and myself.
The first ride we saw was the House of Horrors.
We were sooo excited bout' it. Till we took 5 steps into the place..
It was sooo effing dark that we couldn't figure out where to walk.
We screamed and ran out! HAHAH! 5 steps into the ride and we ran out.
Classic! We went on to venture the other rides instead.
I love how the rides have 4D effects that are so cool.
They use wind, water and even smell to bring the experience to life.
Lunch was at one of the eateries in the theme park.
The food was simply HUGEEEEEE!
Compare the slice of pizza to my finger, you'd get what I mean.
The queues weren't that long Thursday we were there. I suppose the way their queues have been designed do play a part in psychoing people that the queue isn't really that long. We took 40 over minutes to queue for the studios tours. The tram brought us to the various stages and we saw a lot of the places that are used for shootings.
We even got to see the Bean's car! There was also the dancing cars. One part of the ride showed us how rain was created with sprinkles.
Then came the flood. It was just awesome. The effects were simply amazing! We saw many other stuff like 'half-buildings', KingKong's set, the set for The Desperate Housewives, the movies with the plane crash whose title I can't remember.
In the middle of the ride, PPT needed the toilet as she was feeling unwell. Have you ever pulled the EMERGENCY CORD in a ride? We did. It was pretty amusing how everyone stared at us when the private van came to take PPT and Jenn to the office. The rest they say, is history. (:
While PPT and Jenn went back to the hostel to rest, we met with Jesslyn, Cleo's friend who then became out friend. She brought us to the Grand Lux Cafe at Beverly Centre whereby we had the first POSH meal in US. The food was really good. (:
And there it is, Universal Studios Day One. I realise that I'm just really lazy to type anymore. This blog doesn't really seem like an avenue for me to vent anymore. I've really gotta be cautious when I start teaching next week. All seems to move so fast.
It's already July, and I'm not prepared for anything more than this. The flurry of life, the rush we engage in daily. It was just yesterday, really, that I welcomed 2010. And at midnight did I realise that it was already July 2010. It was also when I realise that it's been 2 years. Wow.
I ought to go pack my wardrobe, sieve out the clothes that are TEACHER-APPROVED, which I doubt I've many. Shucks.
