Jolly is a girl so happy! (: Besides the friggin bug/insect bites that I've been plagued with, I'm a happy girl. The weekend has been amazing with a short getaway to Batam with Mummy and Dy.
We took off on Saturday morning, on Penguin Ferry. Our first ride by ferry to Batam! (:
We got ferried to Novotel, the nice nice hotel! (:
Heading out to Nagoya Hill Shopping Complex, we settled down for lunch as we were all hungry. The meal was good, and it made us real happy.
The meal cost a BOMB though! Hahah! (: Imagine a SIX figure lunch! We then had chocolate strawberry + chocolate grape fondue. Yummy! (:
We did some shopping, but didn't buy much cos' all we could see were fashion from 2001 Singapore. Hah! Super OLD SCHOOL! There were loads of imitation goods on sale though, really everywhere!
After shopping, we headed for Winspa, a spa recommended by the guide. It was cheap for Singapore's standards but expensive for Batam's standards. The spa + massage were AWESOME though! I even had the chance to play with BUBBLE BATH! This is one thing worth returning to Batam for! Mummy, Dy and I have even agreed to make it a frequent thing to return to Batam for the goody spa + massage. We even did 'steaming', of which I fell asleep!
All comfy and good from the treat, we took Mac takeaway (I know it's silly) back to the hotel room for dinner.
Before heading back to the room, we explored the hotel, and found this really cool 'bus' thing, which was the entrance for a certain company's D & D!
Dinner was fun as we watched cartoon, and made merry. Mac in Batam, is so Singapore 5 years ago.
We did the great smelling facial masks before sleeping, and it felt so damn good. It's almost the kind of feeling you could get hooked to!
I slept a good 8 hours (which is super rare, esp on a vacation), and we headed down for breakfast. As usual, buffet was being served and we had a really hearty meal.
Our attempt to swim was futile as the water was really cold. It sure didn't help with us soaking in the whirlpool filled with really hot water before attempting to get into the swimming pool again. The water was uber chilly!
We returned to the hotel room to shower, and to watch CARTOONS! (:
After checking out, we caught the shuttle bus to BCS for more shopping. Lucky for us, we did not carry much stuff for the trip so lugging the bags weren't too bad. However, it sure didn't stop us from taking advantage of the 'free' locker service provided by Popular BookStore! (:
Mid meal was KFC (yeah I know we eat a lot)
We walked around shopping in the mall before settling down to get our hair done. Mummy had her hair colored, Dy had her hair treatment while I did the Hair Spa. I got an awesome massage while my hair was being wrapped in goodness! (: It was pretty weird to have a guy massage for me, shoulder blades and stuff though. Nevertheless, it was good.
We then had another meal, which was the cheapest, and spicest of all meals we had in Batam. It was good food too! (: (See! That's why I was such a happy doll!)
I then got my nails done, at an insane price, cause I was in a rush for time. The lady simply added on to bling/3D art to my existing nail color. Pretty aye? (:
We took the crowded ferry back to Singapore and had our dinner at the food court. Somehow, Singapore's food always seems good! We then headed to Vivo, and saw the pretty tall tree! (: We did some shopping, in an attempt to spend my shopping vouchers but to no avail.
It sure is ironic for me to want to buy everything when I've no moolah, and having nothing to want when I've all the moolah I want. Oh well, we can't always have the best of both worlds!
Monday's noon was spent at NLB, GESL meeting, in preparation for this Wed's event. I then headed to the kids' place. Twin boys sure can be a handful! (: Nevertheless, I'm still a dolly jolly girl! (:
I cleaned my room this evening, and after a whole load of sneezing and itching, my room's 1/2 clean! It sure looks totally different, and good in a way. I'm just hoping that this will reduce my chances of those 'unknown' bites. I don't like the discomfort, and it really itches.
Till then, tomorrow's another long day. I'm just hoping that I need not wear that t-shirt!
