Well,
I have more to add to the "odd things that happen to Boo" list, this week has been a roller coaster ride but some good advice from Emma has made me able to laugh it all off.
I think I will separate it first bad and then finish off with the good, I prefer happy endings. First of all, I discovered that monkeys (Annie and Karma) got into my tent and chewed off 5 of my buttons on my lap top, luckily only one of them refuses to work completely. Yesterday was when the rest of my bad things took place, I started out my morning by being informed that the puppy that I was concerned about the previous evening was on it's way to the vet looking very ill. I proceeded to go about my morning duties and stuck my hand in a bag to grab a water bottle only to be greeted with a terrible shock, I had been stung on the underside of the tip of my middle finger (right hand) by a scorpion. Because I shook my hand we were unable to locate said scorpion therefore having no idea what to expect interms of reaction. A few people argued about the best way to treat me so I waited and took some antihistamines, after some arguements I decided that the safest thing to do would be to accompany the puppy to the vet, making me close to a hospital should I need immediate assistance. Arthur suggested I have the vet take care of me and I laughed, he really doesn't know that we aren't monkeys. After finding out that the puppy (which I named "Squish", failing to find out what he was named at birth) had tick bite fever I came back to announce that he would be fine and that I couldn't be in with the monkeys all day and I was greeted by Zorro with another suprise.
Zorro is regularly hidden so I forget how long his arms are and he swipped at me for my attention, so I'd give him cuddles. Unfortunately he has perfect aim (in terms of getting someone's attention) and he scratched my eyelid and just below my eye. I laughed, knowing my luck and gave him first a stern "eyebrows" look and then the affection he so badly craves. That evening I tried to go in with the babies only to find that Armstrong is terrified of me.
The reason that Army is terrified of me brings me to the top of the good things, I have the sweetest boy ever. Yesterday in the mail, I recieved an adorable Valentines card accompanied with bleach and my favourite brand and colour hairdye...I HAVE PINK HAIR AGAIN! The odd thing is that the only monkey that is even slightly phased by it is Army and he screams like "OH MY GOD...THERE'S SOMETHING HORRIBLE EATING YOUR HEAD" and then nuzzles to my neck for comfort only to get up a few minutes later to repeat and runaway. The other good things from this week are my day off and the list of phrases that Katie gave me in Shangane (shaun-gaan).
My day off was glorious, Angi and I went to the lodge in the morning but we were too late for breakfast, luckily our reputation to tip a stupid amount preceeded us and we were served a huge breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit and yogurt, granola and toast accompanied with a pitcher of orange juice and a bottle of champagne (all for under $20 cnd). Then we spent all day swimming in the pool (no other guests) getting poolside drink service and the most fantastic ribs I've ever had in my entire life. It was so great to be away from all the fighting and politics, I also managed to read an entire book that day =). We have booked the trip to Kruger for next Wednesday and are looking into elephant riding or hot air ballooning for the remaining touring days for our trip.
Anywho I have mostly regained feeling other than excrutiating pain in my finger and I am coaxing Army into chilling out, but I still did accuse Tom of plotting this all along, he was always jealous of me and Armstrong.
Love you guys, sorry about the spelling errors but it's hard typing without keys.
