why does pain taste so good?

the needle of ink that permanently patterns your punctured skin.

why does pain look so good?

the words spoken among a crowd of black and a man lying in his best suit.

why does pain sound so good?

the scent left on your husband's collar as he arrives home from work.

why does pain smell so good?

the amount of times you will poke your bruises.

why does pain feel so good?

because it's what reminds us we are alive.
and in the end, it's the pleasure that we once felt.
it is what we are seeking and what will find us again.
to feel alive.
