My mom and I were looking through pictures in an attempt to tidy the craft room closet~ There were pictures from when my mom, her brother and sister were young and still lived in Puerto Rico. It was quite interesting to see the fads and hair styles of that time! But later on my mom brought me a book titled "Germany". It's this giant book full of pages with glossy pictures of German landscapes, and architecture. While looking though the pages, memories came flowing back from when I lived in Germany, and although I was young at the time I still have vivid scenes in my head of all the places we visited in Europe. I realized that while living in Europe I didn't have an understanding of how much I really loved it there (because of my age) , but now looking back I can see that the time I spent walking down streets full of thousand's of years of history, or looking out my back window at a castle across the valley, or while riding on a gondola down the Grand Canal, I was falling in love. I fell in love with Europe, not one country of city in particular, but the feel of being somewhere so full of history, the ancient look of each building, the sounds of foreign voices as you pass by, the smell and taste of freshly baked bread in the window of the bakery.
If you have ever been anywhere foreign, not just Europe, you'll understand how somewhere can fill your senses like Europe does to mine, but if not then you must travel at some time in your life and find that place that leaves you dying to go back, then you'll understand~
Hope this wasn't too crazy for my 1st entry!!!
