[OOC - The Dream]
"I remember everything about the day we met, Ken-chan! I even remember how many clouds there were in the sky that day!"
On the most important day of Kusajishi Yachiru's life the sky was filled will fluffy clouds. The ground was covered in blood, but she was still smiling and happy. Death and destruction surrounded her, and yet still she wanted to play. She could see herself, pleasant and hyperactive even when faced with the fearsome giant who had saved her life.
She reached towards the giant's blood-stained sword; his gruff voice ordering her away as she blithely ignored him. Most would cower in fear before the man, especially after witnessing the wholesale destruction he had so effortlessly wrought. She simply grinned and moved closer, as if already convinced he was her savior.
Once he realized the persistent toddler would not be deterred, the giant man known as Zaraki Kenpachi picked her up, taking her with him into a brighter future. While she could barely speak, he was able to teach her the name he had decided to bestow upon her, and she could feel the pride with which she spoke it radiating in her small, chirping voice.
It was on that day that she became somebody, as well as when she found her special person. That was the day she truly was born.
