i like hanging out in laundry rooms

Nov 29, 2005 22:09

We were sitting on the washing machine and crying and everyone we knew was sitting around a fire in the middle of a barn
watching high strung dogs to make sure there were no more fights and they were all wearing sweaters and shivering and singing and never warming up but smoking bowl after bowl of that hash that showed up from portland
and everyone was thinking about what to do next and the winter break is coming but the thanksgiuving break is over and all of us have these different roads that brought us here and different roads leading out
hot chocolate is a staple and we spend too much time in that crappy coffee shop i used to work at
while andy plays the same songs every single week and everyone else calls him sunshine
75 percent of the crowd was in here this morning playing scrabble and scamming some free drip coffee
but theyve heard these songs before and again and they are humming along like they've listened this time
but andy knows that none of us hear him
he just plays his guitar and sings about beaches and women and bars he can't get into
we are all smiling away, none of us moving because time is standing still and we all fit in like family
but only on this day
every week
on this day
