Has everyone seen Brokeback Mountain?

I'm sitting here eating pizza and I'm trying to think of something interesting to write to you all. I have finished school for the day. \

Friday was pay day and to my surprise I actually go paid for the 7 or 8 days that I've worked rather than waiting for a full pay period. Who knew that I would be getting paid so much money. They didn't take any deductions this pay because it was only a partial one, so next month will be a full paycheck! I can't wait! I also received my first teacher's gift from a mother of my preschool student, Dave. Dave is adorable. He's so tiny and pale. The past week he has had this mop of permed hair on his head and he wears perfume every day. But on Friday, he came in and all the curls were gone!! The mom came in with him and she introduced herself to me. I guess she wanted to make sure that I was a legit teacher for her son. Well, it seems that she was very pleased because she came back after class with $100 gift certificates for both me and my Korean helper teacher, Jenny, for the Department Store near here.

Thursday had to be the most interesting day so far though. The morning went pretty well. The kids get bored easily. A 30 minute period of sitting and doing the same thing gets to be too much for this pack of four year olds, so we were breaking the class up with some activities and games. My class shared lunch with another class of five students in the same classroom. When I arrived back after lunch the poor Korean teacher was overwhelmed by the 10 needy students and was having a hard time controlling them all. I walked into the classroom and two of the boys in the other class (Junny and Dong-jun) were locked in a Brokeback Mountain- style embrace and were open-mouth kissing with tongues and spit flying everywhere!! I looked and all I could do was back out of the classroom and burst out laughing!! Once I gained control again, I went in and told them to stop making out because we had gym class. Those two are a handful. I had a taste of them Friday because their teacher was sick, so all 10 students were mine. Junny doesn't want to participate in the class and he likes to lick everything, we've nick-named him "Lover Boy". Dong-jun I swear just popped out of the womb and he is very clingy and affectionate. The two of them together is just way too much! I had to keep them separated all class! Plus their naughty behaviour started to rub off on a couple of my students as well.

There is another student I should tell you about too. He is in the third preschool class. His name is Terry. We call him Terry the Terror because he is just out of control. He looks like Mick Jagger and his mom either dresses him like a biker or in neon colours. He has a mullet too. He's really adorable, but he is a crybaby. If the other kids don't hold his hand, he cries. If you don't put his coat on first, he cries. If he doesn't get to say: My name is Terry (screams it), then he cries. I think he might be an only child. I feel bad for his teacher, but in a way I really like the kid... he does put out a solid effort, when he feels like it!

The weekend passed way too quickly! I met up with Gordon for some shopping in the AM at the huge mall here called COEX. Google it-- it's massive. After getting some pretty good deals there, I left to meet my Korean friend, Eunice for dinner. She treated me to Bennigans and we ate a truck load of food. I swear there was enough for a family of 4 at least. After that we went out for a walk and ended up at the department store. After browsing the couture we went down to the cosmetics area where Eunice arranged a free makeover for me. I swear my eyelashes were never so long. The Korean girl who did it was really good and she told me she envied my eyelashes! LOL I envy her skin colour, so I guess we're even.

Afterwards, I headed over to Gordon's place where I would be spending the night. We drank and drank and drank. Soju and Milkus ( So Milkus sounds disgusting, but I swear it's SO good. It's some kind of yogurt drink mixed with cider-- which is kind of like 7-up). Then we did Sake shots... I also threw in a beer somewhere along the line... plus Vodka and orange drink.... so many liquors.... Around 12:30 am we headed out to Itaewon to go to a club called "Queen". It was tiny, but so much fun!!!! After that we went to Polly's Kettle. It was not as busy but also fun.... They serve way ghetto drinks there called (coincidence?) Kettles. It's basically a 1 litre pop bottle cut off at the top. Dump some soju in then dump some kool-aid in then stick a straw in it. Lethal. We stayed there until about 5:00 and then hit up ye ole McDonalds for some much needed McBreakfast. After that it was in a cab and home to bed... The sun was almost up...

Let's just say the next morning was not so great. We laid in bed until about 1pm, then I got up and had a shower and tried to eat... not happening. Clinton (a guy we met up with the night before... 23 and ADORABLE) called and wanted to have lunch, so I tried... I really tried. But I got to the elevator and I was like: Gordon, I'm going to throw up. Back to the apartment. I told Gordon to go without me to meet the cutie and no sooner had he left... I was puking. After that I felt WAY better. I laid down, watched Everybody hates Raymond, then left around 4:30 ish. Back to my area an hour later and straight to bed!!!!!

What a weekend! :)
