Ah, it looks like I've been neglecting this journal again...well, there's not really much to report. School has started, the weather is wonderful and I've been feeling relaxed. Besides just doing the usual sewing projects, I've also been preparing myself for my class. This weekend I went back to Smashville just to catch up. Nothing new really happened...
Mabel and I went over to the cemetery on Sunday. After all, it is one of the days that we both promised that we would go over there. Just because I don't live there anymore doesn't mean I'm going to let her down by not coming back, especially for something as important to us as this!
Well...the more and more we come back, the more and more we're used to seeing their graves right next to each other. There aren't as much tears as there used to be, but the sadness is still there and ever present. I don't think that's ever going to change. As always, Mabel was taking it a whole lot better than I was, but she tried to cheer me up a little bit. Right before I was getting too into the zone, she directed my attention to a white gift box being tied to a bright green balloon. It soared right above our heads and into a nearby tree.
Hee. Whenever those presents float by, I like to think that they're gifts from heaven. Everyone who used to live in Smashville, but then died, send off these little boxes from time to time filled with furniture or wallpaper or carpeting...just to brighten up someone's day. It's silly, yes, but it also makes me think that they're still with me.
Eventually, Mabel got the present down from the tree and gave it to me, saying that whatever's in the box I can keep. She then added that it'll probably be of more use to me, and we don't have much space in the tailor shop left for anymore furniture. Well...the shop has been looking a little bit tight lately, but then again Mabel is a little packrat, tee hee!
...I still haven't opened up the gift yet. I should do it soon...
I noticed when I was coming back to my office a pink rose on my doorstep. It looks so pretty...thank you to whoever left it for me!
