I can only imagine that it's about the same thing. And moisturizing lotion helped quite a bit. Except I forgot to cover the parts of my body that were just exposed to the lighter fluid water in the bottom of the shower, so now my feet and ankles are all scaley.
Was the gasoline shower an accident, or like mine to use as a substance to get another substance off?
i've been driving a gasoline tanker for 9 years or so. these things happen. no big whoop.
when you vent the trailer during a warm day following a cold night, there's sometimes condensation (liquid gasoline) at the venting point... under pressure, of course.
or, sometimes, you go to load 3000 gallons into a 1000-gallon compartment... or someone loading a truck next to you does it. whoops!
it's pretty well known in my industry that if you don't feel the burn of gasoline on your scrotum within the first year, you're pretty lucky.
So how do you wash the clothes? In the washing machine? Because I have to scrub my clothes with the lighter fluid still to get all the tar off, and I'm afraid of putting the clothes in the washing machine, for fear of the whole oily substance seperating from water, and lingering in the machine. But my only pair of shoes is trashed from the tar.
yep, in the washing machine. most of the petroleum residue will evaporate after a day or two, but if you're still worried about it, you can run the machine empty to flush out what might be left over.
i'd be more afraid of what the lighter fluid is doing to the integrity of your clothes. cotton is okay, but artificial fabrics may deteriorate.
also, be careful to discharge your static electrical buildup before you mess with the lighter fluid.
moisturizing lotion should help out a lot.

That's gotta be fun trying to get the smell out though.

Diesel's worse though... it's much thicker (like oil) and doesn't evaporate very easily. and Diesel has a hint of sulphur in its smell.

Sulpher is not a wonderful smell. Not at all.
