So I now definitely believe in Karma. I don't really consider myself a bad person, so I was sort of wondering why all those pretty bad things were happening to me as of late. But then today happened, and I again have faith. Go team. I needed to write this down now, though, before I forgot anything. Though I should really be sleeping.
This morning started at 5:00AM, where I woke up to my blaring alarm clocks which collectively sounded like an ambulance siren. From there...after spacing for about 10 minutes, I showered, dressed, and got a "wake-up call" from Kaleigh. At 6 I headed over to her house, and we drove to New Haven to catch an ungodly early train to New York. After meandering for a while, we waited in line for Rush Tickets for The Producers, which turned out to be $26.00 for incredibly decent seats. Take that, snooty older people who actually paid an impossible amount of money for your own tickets.
After traversing NY for a long time....staying inside both Macy's and Toys 'R' Us for looong periods of time to keep away from the heat...we caught The Producers on Broadway at 1:30. The show was so very excellent, that's basically all I can say. Hi-larious. Anyway, after that we wandered around NY for another couple of hours, getting dinner and finding some crazy (as in random) peaceful spot which was basically an outdoor cafe, though without the food vendors. We chilled there for a bit before walking over to the Radio City Music Hall to see a book reading with John Irving, Stephen King, and J. K. Rowling. That was truly spectacular, and I would never have believed how down-to-earth King was, or how frickin Hilarious Irving was. I also found out that Dumbledore is confirmed dead. I soo guessed that all along. Anyway, we sat in a park drinking coffee/water for an hour, headed over to Grand Central Station, and headed back home. I am here, newly scrubbed clean after a grimy day, and I'm just...so very happy at the moment. It was a good day. I'll have more on the book reading tomorrow, but I think I might pass out on this keyboard in a moment, so sleep is in order.
ETA: I said I would add more to this but then I didn't come on at all yesterday, so I won't be expanding much more. The only thing I will say about the reading, though, is that Whoopi Goldberg opened the event, Tim Robbins announced Stephen King, Stanley Tucci announced John Irving, and Kathy Bates announced J. K. Rowling.
So Great.
