Hi all!
It's been a good month overall. The semester is off to a good start. I'm doing science semester, which means it's basically one 15-credit course that combines physics, biology, earth science, and science methods. It's problem based learning, so we're in groups doing investigations and projects all of the time. For the most part, I like it.
This is old news by now, but for those who don't know, I got a house with Karen, Denise and Diana for next year. As if that wasn't good enough, it turns out that we will be living next door to Jon. So we still have some minor details to work out like who is bringing what, but the lease is signed and the deposit is in, so it's settled.
I went on retreat again this year, but this time as a leader. While I was really hesitant to volunteer, I'm glad that I did it. I met more cool people and had lots of time to hang out in Cape May with my friends--the other leaders.
I went to a Bowling for Soup concert with Denise, Diana, and Karen. We watched the ticket taker rip our tickets right in front of our eyes. We all had the same stare of disbelief, because I'm imagining that they wanted to keep their tickets as a souvenior or for a scrapbook, just like I did. Bowling for Soup was pretty good music wise. I really enjoyed American Hi-Fi, which was one of the bands that opened. I was trying to figure out how I recognized them, and didn't get it until they played Flavor of the Week. The other two bands that opened were good as well, one was Riddlin' Kids. You probably haven't heard of them b/c they are from TX.
I had a great birthday thanks to everyone! Jackie, Lauren, Erica, Cheri, Diana, Karen, Denise and I all went out to an Italian restaurant which was very yummy. Then afterwards Lauren, Diana and I went back to Karen and Denise's room and hung out. Saturday I slept in and at night hung out at Karen and Denise's again. Then I went out with Diana and we met up with some band people. Sunday was pancake brunch at church and my parents came and took Erica and I out to Steak and Ale for dinner which was great. I got lots of great things from great people and it was just a great weekend. I've been in such a good mood lately. It's been crazy.
Becky, Kelly, Geoff, Katie, and Andrew are visiting tomorrow!!! I'm soooo excited!!!! I really hope the snow holds off so that they can come down and have a safe drive. I really wanted to go home for my birthday and Geoff's birthday, but it obviously just didn't work out. They're all on spring break--well I'm not sure if BCC is off, but they're all home.
OK I'm gonna go practice guitar. That's right, I'm learning--I'm taking a class this semester. I can't wait to learn how to play something that sounds halfway decent. My neighbor who owns an online music store just sent music books and guitar accessories for me. Gotta work on getting my fingers to be tough stuff. My neighbor says I should go find a nice guitar guy to help me string my guitar, but I don't know anyone this year that could do that--I don't think. I wonder if I actually would though if I knew someone. I just might! Haha. Dad told me it shouldn't be that hard to learn how to play guitar, so I told him I'm starting a garage band at his house. He figured out how to play a [simple] song in less than two minutes. That didn't help my self esteem as I still can't play much of anything. OK well I'm gonna go work on this! Catch ya later!
