(no subject)
tonight i downloaded the retail version of weezer's new album "maladroit" and was very much surprised and blown away. i haven't felt like listening to weezer since i got bored of the green album and rivers' antics last fall, but for some reason, finding out the retail version of the album was available, i felt inspired to download it and give it a listen.
probably since i was expecting more green-style mediocrity, just hearing most of the tracks on maladroit for the first time (or at least since the early early original demos) was something of a revelation!
this album hands down kicks green's ass and is on par with their first two albums, personally. kickass playing, awesome choruses, intricacies and heart, (most of which were sadly absent on green) made for one of the most enjoyable nights of new music listening i've had in a while.
time to let the obession start again? perhaps :P
