I am soooooo not happy about this and since i have yet to be to a last week show because something always prevents me, like being in albany, I really really really want to go to this one. so if some of you will be so kind as to join me, i will be making phone calls later today and tomorrow, that will be very much appriciated.
Dear Last Week fans, friends, Criminals, and family,
We have shared so many great memories and accomplishments with you since the start of this band. From jamming in our rooms to our garages, from The Backstage to The Continental Airlines Arena, from Lawrence, New York to Tokyo, Japan, from WLIR to Z100 and Sessions@AOL, you have all not only shared in these experiences with us, but, more importantly, made them possible. For this, we owe you more thanks than we can vocally express. We also recognize the emotional investment people have made in us and in our music, and are extremely grateful.
At this point in time, however, we have decided we cannot continue to be Last Week as you know it. It has been a difficult transition, yet, it was necessary. Over the past eight amazing years of the band we have devoted ourselves to our music and to each other. Nevertheless, we have, in many ways, grown apart. Ido, will begin to work on his own intensely personal project. It will focus on human growth and how we deal with change in a time where we are dealing with change. Matt, Sherman, and Neal will continue playing together, starting a new, exciting project that will be announced shortly.
Despite the recent differences within the band, the past few months were filled with hard work on a new record. We finished a bunch of songs, and to show our appreciation to all of you, we have decided to release a few of them as free downloads on myspace.com/lastweek. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do, as they will be performed on April 8th at Arlene’s Grocery: located in the East Village of New York City. April 8th will be the final show featuring all four members of Last Week, as you know it, on stage; we hope you can make it out. Please get there early to ensure admittance. At this show brand new limited edition t-shirts will be on sale for the last time.
We hope you can continue with, and support us in our new journeys.
Love and Respect,
Matt, Neal, Ido, and Sherman.
