i don't understand the new LJ. i can see all my icons, does that mean i can use them?

this post is to say that there's something amazing and marginally livejournal-related coming up in my life, as alluded to in this entry from a few months ago:
yes, this is really happening -- one night only, at Blipsy's Barcade in the Wilshire-Center area of Los Angeles, d-lit and i will be warmup-DJing a flashback to pre-screamo emo!
apparently this is a movement that has been popping up in various other places -- check out WashedUpEmo for more info on the development of that whole biznass. we're going to be representing the west coast branch, bringing it for the home team and reclaiming the word "emo" from the vacuous wasteland that was MySpace.
i hope the evening goes well.
better than that, i hope it goes so well that we get to do it once a month.
more than THAT, i hope it goes so incredibly well that we make it into the annals of rock journalism as nostalgians, revivalists of a dormant movement! haha! how fun would that be!
