update on mel
Ok her surgey went fine. We got there early and she was called back about 7 and i was able to sit with her and watch her fall asleep. Thats a first cuz normally its always been when they get ready to give the sleepy meds all vistors have to leave. So right before they wheeled her out i got to say i love you. Of course she doesnt remember that because the sleepy drugs worked very fast and along with the pretty colors she told me she saw im suprised she even responed to me.
After the surgery the Dr came out and explained everything they did and then almost an hour after that i was able to go back and sign papers and help her get dressed. Basically in a nut shell what they did was cut her thumb and take out the tumor ,scrap the bone and then graft bone from her wrist to her thumb and replace the wrist bone with fake bone. She has stiches and a cast but it doesnt go all the way around. the part where shes cut was left uncast so that it can heal but her wrist is still stable.
I have to say that im so glad she decided to come stay with me instead of being alone. Shes on heavy meds and she got sick once and i was able o be there for her. There has to be an awful lot of love for somebody to be able to go into the bathroom with them and hold a cool cloth the their head as they puke. I didnt even puke and i so thought i would.
I took her home today after work , caydee and i had dinner with her ,when it was time to go i held it and didnt cry. She said she would come here after work on weds if things are doing ok and she will stay with me until friday morning. Her Dr app is 2 something in livermore and then she will have work after. Heres a secret.........she was so full of affection we did alot of hands on touching and i so miss that. She said it was the meds but i think it was her and the meds just brought it out . Either way i was loving all of it.
