I have just returned from four wonderful days spent wandering the streets of Amsterdam. When I phoned my mother last night to tell her we had arrived home safely I could not think of all the things we had done, having fit so much into such a short space of time. All I could think to tell her was that Paris is no longer my favourite city. We felt so at home so quickly in Amsterdam. The people were so friendly and always willing and wanting to find out where we were from and if we were enjoying our time there.
The highlights of our trip were the Van Gogh museum, a night time canal cruise, the Anne Frank house, the food (Humphrey's was amazing!), the shopping, riding the trams, the floating flower market, visiting the red light district and seeing the many different kinds of people there, chocolate fudge brownies in The Hard Rock Cafe and much much more.
All I know is that one day I will live in Amsterdam, whether it be in 1 year or 10. It's moved straight to the top of my list!
