Today has been very productive, which is quite an achievement considering we didn't wake up until 10.30am! After a leisurely brunch we headed into town with my mother and purchased all of the bedding for our master bedroom and for the guest room. We've decided to go for a French theme with red and cream for our room and deep purples and pinks being the main colour scheme in the guest room. Tomorrow we're hoping to investigate sofa sets and beds to get them ordered as soon as possible as we were told the wait for one sofa was 8 weeks! Luckily my parents have a spare sofa we can borrow in the meantime.

Ted has gone to play quoits with my father this evening so I'm taking advantage of the empty house by catching up on my magazine reading (Lula, Elle and Nylon), spring cleaning my wardrobe and selecting some recipes to cook later in the week. Butternut squash is a current favourite and I've discovered a lovely recipe for a risotto which I can't wait to try and with Ted being Italian he can share all of his families secrets!

I'm contemplating the idea of arranging a picnic for the two of us next week if the weather is nice. There's a lovely Roman fort in the countryside about ten miles away from my parent's house, which is the perfect spot for a picnic. There's also a pub called The George nearby which has a selection of fine ales and a deck overlooking the river in case it decides to rain. I've been researching new salad recipes which has sparked this idea so I'm open to all suggestions for perfect picnic food!
