you can't stop me napping, you nap Nazi!
it was Charlie's fifth birthday today, but unfortunately she couldn't wear her flashing 'birthday girl' badge on her ski suit as it was a safety magnet one without a pin. we went out for our ski lesson regardless, and followed Eveline around the mountain like ducklings skittering after a mother duck. i learned how to parallel turn and sideslip, and Charlotte learned how to ski backwards (i did not like the sensation of this at all). we both did a bit of skiing along with one leg in the air but much preferred keeping them both on the ground.
we played in the snow this afternoon, then Charlie opened her presents (which she was absolutely thrilled with) and we ate birthday cake. i can't believe she's five already! the kids were so tired yesterday that they were all asking to go to bed from about 4.30pm onwards although we managed to keep them up until about 6pm, and tonight wasn't much later. it must all the fresh mountain air and exercise! talking of which, early start tomorrow again so time for bed for me too...
