i finished the gossip girl prequel: it had to be you. i'm completely hooked, it's official. i've counted out my money, and even though i'm digging into the fund for my trip to new york city, i just need to buy the first book in the actual series.
i'm addicted. it's a real guilty pleasure.
i feel so sorry for serena, i have to say. her & nate seem to work for me. but this view may change as the series goes on, who knows? i won't give too many spoilers away, but if you've seen some of the tv series - like myself - you may know why serena van der woodsen left, and this prequel tells the tale.
i've seen a couple of people complain that the gossip girl books aren't as good as the television series, but i must disagree. so far, i've been much more enthusiastic and entertained by the books. which, for anyone who knows me, will know is completely weird and against me. i'm usually the "i prefer the tv show and/or the films to the actual books." harry potter & the goblet of fire was the only hp book i ever finished.
i think these books are a love it or hate it deal. because others, including me, simply love them!
100%, no looking back, i give the gossip girl prequel: it had to be you a solid 10 / 10 an eleven actually would be better suited. i could not put the novel down and utterly loved the alternations between each characters perspective and the blog style pages of gossip girl.
EDIT: ebay is a wonderful place! i bought the next two books in the gg series!!
i'm thinking of making some 100 x 100 icons of wild child, we'll see.
i've only newly discovered this bookworm in me. just earlier i started 'twilight' by stephenie meyer. it seems everyone is addicted to this series at the moment so i'm going to read it and see what i think. chart books were buy one get one free in W.H. Smith so i bought the second book in the series 'new moon' although, once i finish twilight, i'm definitely switching back to gossip girl.
that's sensible, right? reading two series of books together? haha.
