As I can tell from the network, a majority of you are celebrating a holiday known as "White Day". Seeing as this is an alternate universe of sorts, I will explain in brief what it's purpose is.
St. Valentine's Day, in Japan and Korea, is a holiday designed for women to give men chocolate or other candies, or anything they might see fitting for the person of their affection. Other cultures do it the opposite way on this particular day. It is on White Day that men give women chocolate and other presents, typically in larger quantities or of a higher quality.
As Valentine's day is on Februrary 14, March 14 was placed exactly one month afterwards. That, in brief, is what whit day is.
But did any of you consider to remember PI DAY?!
YES! In fact, today is the date THREE-POINT-ONE-FOUR, which just so happens to be the first three "real" numbers of pi (π). As such, today is the day we celebrate the infamous number that is used in equations to solve for various equations on circles! Some people even celebrate the day by baking massive amount of pie!
This is, along with thousands others, one of the most uncelebrated holidays! OTher such abandoned holidays today are:
* Sikhism - Nanakshahi New Year, first day of month of Chet
* Albania - Summer Day
* Andorra - Constitution Day
* Estonia - Estonian language day, based on birth of Kristjan Jaak Peterson
* Saint Vincent and the Grenadines - Heroes' Day
* Saint Mathilda
Now, this is just a few of the many holidays abandoned in March! Others include!
* Panic Day celebrated on March 9th
* Multiple Personalities Day on March 5th
* Supreme Sacrifice Day on March 18th
And, a few of my favorites during other months:
Evaluate your life day and Bad poetry day!!
As such! Tonight at my house I will be celebrating Pi day, along with any other holiday you invite to my house within logical reason! And no political holidays! Those are always under appreciated.
((ooc; if there's interest, we CAN log this out tomorrow and backdate it to today. Literally everybody is invited. Thanks to Keru and Danny for helping me find these holidays. And whoever the hell gave me the pi day idea, WHAT THE HELL?!))
