I'm just in the mood to post some of my poetry from last year.
Enjoy!
Summer
Like waiting in a dessert
Without water
For months
We are starving
Agonizing
Complaining
And yet the day comes
Annually for sure
When we raise our heads
To the heat of fire
And we breathe it in
And suck it in all we can
And we curse the sun
Graduating
On our way to the tenth floor
Our minds racing
Seaearching for an answer
They say
Its set in stone
But we are barely children
Our lives at stake
Every srong vchoice
A nail in our coffin
How can we choose now
For the next 60 years
They treat us like children
But ask us to be adults
So we make our choices
And hope
Spring
She turns toward the east
Stretching her ears
Her eyes
Searching for a sign
But none
She sighs and turns
For he has not
yet returned
So she waits
And again
She waits
Yet now
Her ears feel warmth
And she breaths the grass
And her heart flutters
Her eyes find
his face
as he rises
for as foretold
he has returned
from many mnths
of aimlss gone
His fingertips
caress her face
and her jacket slips
to the hot ground
for spring has returnes
