[Dream 02] - Alternate
Note: This probably contains spoilers for the end of Crystal Shards, after the defeat of Miracle Matter, so, yeah.
Effects: A lil' bit of panic and fear anyone?
They made it. They defeated Dark Matter and Ripple Star was, once again, safe from the thread of Dark Matter and his minions.
Seeing all the fairies around them, congratulating them on a good job... It made Kirby really elated. He was used to being praised back in Dream Land, but in this case, it was different. He didn't save only one planet, but the entire universe. It was a great feeling.
Unfortunately, Kirby and his friends couldn't stay on Ripple Star for to long. They had things to attend back in Pop Star, so Dee Dee De e called a small spaceship to take them back home. When their ride landed near the fairy castle, they waved 'goodbye' to Ribbon and the Queen...
And Kirby could swear that he saw a strange gleam on the Queen's eyes, but that was probably just his imagination.
The pink ball and the other entered the spaceship but, before they could leave, the fairy Queen walked to them, a smile on her face.
"Thank you again for bringing back the crystal to us. We are really thankful..." and then her innocent smile turned into a wicked grin, and her voice went from soothing to ominous. "Too bad it won't work."
Everyone's eyes widened as red wings started to grow on the Queen's back, her eyes dark and sparkling with evil. She soared through the air and snatched the crystal from Ribbon's hand, throwing her to the ground in the process.
"Ri-Ribbon!" Kirby quickly left the spaceship and started running towards the little fairy, as Dee Dee Dee followed him promptly.
"He-Hey! Come back here you stupid pink ball! It's too dangerous!" The big penguin said, but Kirby pretty much disregarded it. He was too worried about the fallen fairy.
He got near her, shaking her, asking if she's OK until she opened her eyes, and they went wide with the sight behind Kirby of the fairy Queen carrying the crystal, with a dark aura around her.
"Nice of you all to bring this to me, to make it easier for me to destroy it!" The 'Queen' said, hands on the crystal as it starts to turn pitch black.
Dee Dee Dee finally caught up with Kirby, pulling on his arms. "C'mon now Kirby! Grab Ribbon and let's get out of here!"
The pink ball quickly pulled Ribbon by the hand and the three started to go back to the spaceship, but then a bolt of energy stopped them.
"Going so soon?" The Queen grinned at them, throwing the now blackened crystal on the ground, as it shattered in pieces. "Now... there's nothing you innocent fools can do to stop me."
Kirby was about to step up and confront the possessed Queen, when Dee Dee Dee pulled him back.
"Take Ribbon to the spaceship and go." The king said in a rather demanding tone, pulling out his mallet. "I'll hold this guy back."
Both Ribbon and Kirby looked at the large penguin with their eyes wide in surprise. They actually weren't expecting that.
"So, the Dream Land king wants to face me again. Very well." The Queen put one of her hands out as Dee Dee Dee told his two companions to go one last time, and they finally obeyed, rushing to the spaceship where Adelaine and Waddle Dee were waiting.
"Wha-what about him?" Adelaine asked Ribbon, pointing at the big penguin.
"He... He told us to go." The little fairy said, looking down.
At that, Adelaine nodded and told Waddle Dee to steer the spaceship out of Ripple Star, much to Kirby's dismay, but he knew there was no other way.
As the spaceship leaves the planet, the group can hear a huge explosion and see a enormous blast of darkness, what makes the whole dream go black.
[Kirby instantly jumps from the couch, almost falling to the floor. He looks around and... He's still in Somarium, still at Allen and Lenalee's cottage. He feels a little bit unease, but still tries to go back to sleep, despite everything.]
