I would have to say, of all people to influence my life, the greatest would be my sister, Narri.
From letters and journals of Gorion's I read after the Bhaalspawn War I found out that there had been some questioning of whether I really was a Child of Bhaal or not. Given that I showed none of the signs of such that Narri did from an early age Gorion believed I had escaped the taint of Murder and thought to protect me from the inevitable danger he and Narri would face once they left Candlekeep's protection.
As it was, the barely days before they did depart I found the letter Gorion received prompting him to leave and decided then and there that I would follow, think it unfair that Narri was going on an adventure while I was being left behind.
Afterwards, when Gorion was gone and everything seemed totally pear-shaped, it was Narri who had enough presence of mind to keep on going, to follow the advice Gorion gave before he died. Later, after Nashkel, it was Narri who argued with Jaheira and while she turned to me to tell her how to go - whether to separate from Jaheira or not - I know now I was just telling her what I instinctively knew she wanted more.
Narri was the one who persuaded me to take up using magic, Narri encouraged me, Narri was always the leader. She came to save me from Irenicus, saved my soul from Bodhi and was the one willing to give Sarevok a second chance at life.
I would hardly be half the person I am now if I did not have Narri as my sister.
