it's been awhile since i last cried in public...
So on thursday a lady came into the store asking for someone to help her, she's from spain and she needed someone who spoke spanish to help her out. A girl sent her my way, she explained how she wanted to book a hostel in santa barbara and that she needed help, she asked if i could please call and do it for her. I did it, but they weren't allowing me to do it because she needed a credit card in order to reserve her stay and she doesnt travel with her cards. She tried pleading in spanish and some english, i began feeling really bad for the lady. I ended up giving them my card information, it was a gamble, but they weren't going to charge my card if she showed up which i believed she would. I was at work helping her for like more than thirty minutes, good thing is that the really cool and chil managers were there.
So that was that, today she called me thanking me for everything, but also telling me how they are going to kick her out because she is old. She began crying because she said that the hotels in santa barbara are wayy too expensive for her and how they have never kicked her out because of her age. Apperantly it's only for students, which i understand, but when i called that night (to make the reservations) the girl asked me if she was a student and i told her she wasn't, that she was from spain. I talked to like two different people there that night and no one said anything. The lady was crying so i told her i would try to talk to them and see if we can do anything as seeing how this wasn't our fault. She took a bus all the way over there and will now be semi stranded? I dunno. I called and i spoke to girl, who was kinda rude (which the lady from spain warned me about) she then transferred me to her manager and her manager clearly said "no, we can't have her here because she is crazy. This is a place for twenty year olds, she doesnt fit in". He was pretty rude and now, i feel sooo bad about her. It isn't anyones fault but ugh! She is going to be calling me soon and i dont know what to say, she is going to cry again and that isn't cool.
