An Ode To Lost Friendship
I remember the past as if just yesterday
How we'd party all night and talk on the phone
And skip school all day
It was the times Id never forget
But not because they were a lot of fun
More like the time spent together
The time we spent just being young
People use to say we'd be the perfect couple
But how could I date my brother
Even though I loved you so much as your sister from a different mister
And you were always going to be my brother from another mother
Something happened and Im not really sure what it was
You broke up with my best friend
I never heard from you nor did she
You never told us this was the end
But I never thought me n you would end over a break up
You use to tell me you loved me like a sister
Saying we'd be friends forever
And now you got my thoughts in the state of a twister
My thoughts go a mile per minute
My heart feels dead inside
I still have no idea
No idea why I feel like you lied
Because you ended the friendship and Im not sure what I did
We always stood by eachothers side
Through anger tears and break ups
Through one of our close friends attempted suicide
You said you'd smoke a cigarette with me but nothing would change
By the end of the week we were back to normal
I remember breaking up your fights although you never asked
It was like a contract so informal
We never agreed but we always knew
We were always there for each other
No matter the little fights we had over nothing
