who are you to tell me it'll always be this way

I bought a book bag yesterday. :) It's grey which is an in colour, and it makes me officially trendy. Now all I need is the skin-tight jeans and ballet flats. Jeans so tight my legs can't breathe. Jeans so tight I look like I have painted them on, and stitched the brown thread into my skin. (People in Melbourne dress crazy stupid.)
Today I went into town, which is a nice place, full of neon signs and small interesting shops. I found some small interesting shops that I will have to note down and take you to, Sylvia. Isabel and I went to see the opening of the Jazz Fest which we ended up missing anyway, but we had assorted interesting foods. For example, a very expensive hot chocolate at a chocolateria that Isabel bought me because I didn't have any money yet, and some gelati - and I had eel for dinner. :) I have embarked on a culinary mission to try new foods, and eel was step one. It's an odd fish. Very oily and very very very very fishy tasting. Good in small quantities, not in the massive chunk that they gave me at claypot king though.

We also got dumplings, which are one of the best foods in the universe.

It's taking me a while to come around to the fact that maybe I'm not a completely antisocial person. One of the best things about living here on my own for a bit is that it has forced me to learn how to approach people, and NOT to act as if I'm imposing on them by trying to get to know them. Maybe people will like me! It's amazing how silly and pessimistic I can be in my moments. Probably my most uttered phrase first few weeks here was "if you dont mind" - come see something if you dont mind,  come have coffee if you dont mind. No more! Mantra of the moment - I am not antisocial. I am not antisocial. I am not antisocial.

Proof of this: Today: exploring town with Isabel. Tuesday: choir. Wednesday: First day of self-defence course where I will learn to beat people up. Thursday: regular meeting with dan, plus seeing friend in town. Friday-Sunday: choir camp. Next weekend: birthday drinks.

See, self? EVIDENCE. You are doing stuff! You are getting out there! Stop trying to be super-socialite. Let it happen.

End post.

PS: Sylvia - I miss you! Wish you were here.
PPS: Sars - I invited you to birthday drinks, right?
